Heartbreak hotel for Horton at East Alabama; fourth-place finish at Senoia with Southern Nationals
On Friday afternoon, Austin Horton traveled to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) for the first of two rescheduled events with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern National Series over the weekend.
Starting fourth in the $7,553-to-win main event, Horton quickly made his way to the front and led laps 11-34 before mechanical issues struck with just seven laps to go. Horton was forced to pull off the track and finish 16th.
Hoping to get the monkey off his back at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway on Saturday, Horton started ninth in the $7,544-to-win main event and came back with a Top-5 finish in fourth.
