Austin Horton wins Limited Special at Penton Raceway; runner-up with Topless Outlaws
Still sporting a special throwback wrap, Austin Horton invaded Penton (Ala.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the track's Limited Late Model Special.
Topping the qualifying charts among a 16-car field, Horton ran runner-up for the first eight laps before powering around Dusty Jones to take the race lead. Austin paced the field for the final 22 laps and collected the $2,400 payday.
Racing closer to home on Saturday, Horton joined a strong field of Topless Outlaws at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Ga.) for a $3,000-to-win event. Locking into the A-Main through qualifying, Austin started ninth in the 40-lap feature and charged to a runner-up finish behind Skip Arp.
