Top-5 outing in Roscoe Smith Classic at Senoia Raceway
Traveling to familiar territory on Thursday afternoon, Austin Horton unloaded his No. 16 at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) for the Roscoe Smith Classic with the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series.
Among a stout 47-car field, Horton automictically earned a feature position after laying down the second-fastest qualifying lap in his group. Rolling off from the second-row in the $7,544-to-win main event, Austin battled with the front-runners during the 44-lap feature and eventually settled for a fourth-place outing.
Traveling to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Friday afternoon, Horton was sixth-quickest in his qualifying group before a heavy thunderstorm rolled into the area. Officials were forced to postpone the event to August 18th.
