Austin Horton podiums with Spring Nationals at Rome Speedway
Staying in his home state of Georgia this weekend, Austin Horton entered his Franklin Enterprises No. 16 Late Model into Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals competition at Rome Speedway (Rome, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon.
Following the fifth-quickest lap in time trials, Horton finished runner-up in his heat race which landed him a third-row starting position in the feature. For the $10,053-to-win main event, Austin used the bottom lane in the 53-lap race to quietly sneak into the Top-3. He followed Dale McDowell and Sam Seawright while Michael Page and Ross Bailes completed the Top-5.
